Our Community Involvement

Giving Back to the Communities that Support Us

At IKE’S Air Conditioning, we believe in giving back to our neighbors and communities that support our business. We understand that we’d be nothing without our customers, which is why we make it our mission to take part in various community involvement programs every year. We are a veteran-owned business, and we actively support fellow veterans and their families throughout the San Antonio area, amongst other charitable endeavors and volunteer operations.

First Annual Coolest Hero

Being a veteran himself, Bill Eisenhauer, owner of IKE’S Air Conditioning, decided that San Antonio needed a way to honor its wounded warriors in a new way other than discounts or special offers. Bill decided that our warriors need a chance to get something that will genuinely improve their lives: a new Mitsubishi ductless AC system. The Mitsubishi ductless system allows homeowners to improve a room with a hot spot. Bill decided this is a perfect solution for veterans who may have a workspace, converted garage, or even a bedroom that is uncomfortably warm, especially during the Texas summers.

With the involvement of IKE’S Air Conditioning and Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating, the Coolest Hero contest began in May 2016. IKE’S Air Conditioning created posters that were displayed at the VFW and the Veteran Affairs office in San Antonio, TX. To reach more of the masses IKE’S Air Conditioning was featured on KENS 5’s morning show, Great Day SA. After two months of contesting it was a difficult decision to choose just one veteran after reviewing so many deserving candidates. IKE’S Air Conditioning’s First Coolest Hero was Jose Juan Santiago Gonzalez. IKE’S Air Conditioning installed his brand-new Mitsubishi ductless unit in his home.

Second Annual Coolest Hero

After the wonderful success with the first annual Coolest Hero Contest, Bill Eisenhauer continued with the second annual Coolest Hero contest. However, for 2017, Bill decided to open the contest to more than just our wounded warriors, but to all veterans in the San Antonio community. Extending the contest to all veterans allowed the contest to reach the community on a much larger scale. The contest began on May 1st and ended on Memorial Day due to the higher volume of candidates. IKE’S Air Conditioning promoted the contest for nearly thirty days through Facebook, the company website, and KENS 5’s Great Day SA.

By Memorial Day IKE’S Air Conditioning found the most deserving veteran to choose for the Mitsubishi ductless AC unit. Former Marine Michael Owen was chosen to be the second annual Coolest Hero winner. IKE’S Air Conditioning installed Owen’s Mitsubishi ductless unit in his home. IAir Conditioning cannot wait to continue honoring our veterans every year with the help of Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating.

Mi Casa

IKE’S Air Conditioning partnered with KENS 5 in 2016 for Mi Casa. Mi Casa is a 10 + year program KENS 5 has committed to in changing the life of a homeowner within the San Antonio community. KENS 5, IKE’S Air Conditioning, and several other local sponsors pulled together to completely renovate the home of the Garcia family. The Garcia family suffered from a multitude of health and financial problems that deserved the help of the Mi Casa program. Gregario Garcia served in the military for years which resulted in several medical conditions such as heart health, diabetes, and back problems, making him unable to work fulltime. Carmen, Gregario’s wife, is a substitute teacher who works hard to make ends meet for her husband and twin daughters.

The Garcia family was in desperate need of fixing leaks, ridding the home of mold, removal of rodents, and removal of their faulty AC system. Unfortunately, due to the mold and poor air quality in the home, the Garcias' twin daughters could hardly sleep in the home due to their asthma. IKE’S Air Conditioning happily stepped in to fix the AC unit. The old unit was removed and all ductwork was completely re-done making dust being greatly reduced. IKE’S Air Conditioning installed a brand-new Mitsubishi ductless AC unit, an energy and cost-efficient system that can be temperature-controlled via wireless remote. Overall the Garcia family was thrilled to have a quiet unit that improved the indoor air quality in their San Antonio home!
